Class of 2022 received their fabulous graduation hoodies on Friday the 6th of May. We would like to thank the parents of Rathduff N.S for organising this lovely gift. It was a very special and memorable day for 6th class!
Sixth Class
Primary School Game
Well done to Katie Clifford in 6th class who represented our school in the Primary School Game on the 7th of May in Páirc Uí Rinn. Katie played at half time in the Cork vs Kerry game. Fantastic achievement Katie!
Gymnastics
Gymnastics began on Monday the 21st of February. The children will be completing six gymnastic sessions with two external teachers. 6th class have thoroughly enjoyed their sessions so far.
Sciath na Scol is back!
We are absolutely delighted that Sciath na Scol has returned this year! Well done to all in 5th and 6th class for showing excellent enthusiasm at training. We are looking forward to our upcoming hurling, camogie and football matches!
Titanic Projects
6th Class recently completed and presented their ‘Titanic’ projects to the class. Many Titanic books and resources were brought into school. The children were split into group. Each group researched their project at home and in school using iPads. Each group designed, constructed and presented their own project to the class. Additionally, some groups designed a PowerPoint presentation. Well done 6th Class!
Chess Club
Chess club was a huge success again this year! A big thank you to Ms Walsh, Mr Keoghan and Ms Kavanagh for all their dedication in developing this skill. The lunch time practice really paid off! Well done to the children for all the enthusiasm and interest they showed in learning how to play chess and developing the many skill associated with this.
A school chess tournament was held in February ’20 in the Ballincollig Gaelscoil. Children from the club competed in all levels. The children performed excellently during the day and were a credit to the school.
