Music Education
In Rathduff N.S we try and provide for the children’s many gifts and talents. One of these is through the teaching of music in our school.
Children are taught the tin whistle from first class onwards. Many events have displayed the schools musical abilities. The most memorable of these was the recent creation of a school album titled ‘Tar Linn’, in 2014. Under the guidance of Mr. Cantillion-Murphy, all the school participated in the creation of this 11 track CD which helped raise over €4500 for the school.
Currently , the school has a newly formed choir and under the guidance of Ms. Barrett, the children of 5th and 6th class will have the opportunity to show off their singing talents at events such as school masses, school graduations and Christmas carol singing at Blackpool Shopping Centre.
